Hon. Michael Lee-Chin, O.J., Chairman, Economic Growth Council for Jamaica, will deliver the keynote address at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica’s (ICAJ) Business Conference to be held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston on Friday, October 7, 2016, beginning at 9:00a.m.
Mr. Lee-Chin will speak on the topic: Achieving Sustainable Growth for Jamaica and Growth Opportunities for Jamaica. Also speaking at the conference will be former Prime Minister, Mr. Bruce Golding, who will address the relevance of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Mr. Golding, who now heads Jamaica’s Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Review Commission, will address the issue in the context of the post-Brexit era.
Jamaica’s Investment Ambassador to India, Senator Aubyn Hill, will address how the current shift in economic power to India and China will impact Jamaica. Cyber Security has been on the front burner of most corporations and the topic will be discussed by Mr. S. David Craig, Lead Partner, Cyber security & Privacy practice, PwC Canada under the theme: WikiLeaks, Panama Papers … is your organisation next?
Mr. Sree Ramaswamy, Senior Fellow at the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), will speak on Demographic Shifts & Digital Megatrends and will examine if Millennials are poised to reshape economies and change the way business is conducted in a new world of connectivity. Dr. Aggrey Irons will speak on Health & Lifestyle and offer tips for a better work/life balance.
There will also be panel discussion on Taxation in Jamaica, Climate Change & Resource Scarcity and the Role of Chief Financial Officers (CFO’s).
The Business Conference will come to a close with cocktails and a lyming session in the Gardens at the Pegasus. The Conference is being held as a part of the activities for Chartered Accountants’ Week which is being celebrated from October 2 – 7, 2016.
