CHAIRMAN RECEIVES INAUGURAL ICAJ
PRESIDENT'S AWARD
Hailed for
her unwavering dedication and outstanding
contribution to the development of the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of
Jamaica (ICAJ), Miss Prunella Vassell,
Treasurer and PR Chairman, was the
recipient of the inaugural ICAJ
President's Award for the most outstanding
Committee Chairperson for 2002/2003.
The award,
which was initiated by outgoing President,
Mr L. Garth Kiddoe, was presented to Miss
Vassell during the Institute's 38th Annual
General Meeting held recently at the
Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.
In saluting
her contribution to profession, Mr Kiddoe
noted that Miss Vassell in her capacity as
Treasurer and Chairperson of the
Institute's PR & Publications
Committee has been integral in the success
of the Institute over the past year. He
also lauded her for commitment to the work
of the Institute and to the advancement of
the local accountancy profession. She was
also recognized for her key role in the
very successful 21st Caribbean Conference
of Accountants, which was hosted in
Montego Bay Jamaica by the ICAJ in June.
Miss
Vassell, who was first elected to the
Council of the ICAJ in 1997, has served as
a member of the Institute's Admissions,
Current Affairs, Future of the Profession,
Student Affairs and the Taxation
Committees. She has also served as
Chairperson for the ICAJ's Student Affairs
and Taxation Committees.
Miss
Vassell is an Associate in charge of Audit
Services at Paul Goldson & Company and
a Fellow of the Institute and the
Association of Chartered Certified
Accountants (ACCA). She is also a member
of the Management Committee of the
Students' Accountancy Training Consortium
and the University Council of Jamaica.
