Outstanding
Committee Chairperson 2005/2006
Past
President and Chairman of the Future of
the Profession Committee, L. Garth Kiddoe
was named the recipient of the President's
Award for Most Outstanding Committee
Chairperson for 2005/2006.
The
presentation of the President's Award was
made at the 41st Annual General Meeting
held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on July
26, 2006.
Mr. Kiddoe
was recognised for his outstanding
contribution to the development of the
ICAJ and the Accountancy profession,
locally, in his capacity as a Past
President and, currently, as Chairman of
the Future of the Profession Committee and
as an active member of the Current
Affairs, Accounting Standards, Admissions
and Continuing Professional Education
Committees. He has served as the ICAJ's
representative on the Public Accountancy
Board (PAB) and continues to represent the
Institute on the Corporate Governance
Committee of the Private Sector
Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ).
In making
the presentation, ICAJ President, Leighton
McKnight, further noted that Mr. Kiddoe
was also being recognised for his role in
advancing the interest of the ICAJ
regionally in his capacity as the current
President of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of the Caribbean (ICAC) and
the ICAC's representative on the Board of
Trustees of the Caribbean Court of Justice
Trust Fund.
Mr. Kiddoe
is currently the Dean of the Faculty of
Business and Management University of
Technology, Jamaica.
