New
ICAJ Leadership Elected For 2005/2006
Mr.
Leighton McKnight, FCA, FCCA, BSc. was
elected President of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ)
for 2005/2006, following the 40th Annual
General Meeting held on July 27th at the
Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.
Mr.
McKnight is an Audit Partner in the firm
of PricewaterhouseCoopers with
responsibility for staff recruitment and a
number of the firm's major audit clients.
He has served as Vice President of the
Institute in 2003 and 2004. He was first
elected to the Council of the ICAJ in 1997
and has chaired the Institute's Audit
Practice Committee.
Miss
Prunella Vassell, FCA, FCCA, an
Associate in charge of Audit Services and
Tax Consultancy at Paul Goldson &
Company, was elected Vice President.
She was
first elected to the Council of the ICAJ
in July 1997 and has served as Treasurer
and Chairperson of the Institute's Finance
Committee for the past six years. Miss
Vassell was Chairperson of the Students'
Affairs and Taxation Committees from 1997
to 2001 and Chairperson of the Public
Relations/Publications Committee for the
past three years, having served as member
of that Committee since 1993.
Principal
Officers for 2005/2006 are:
Mr. Archibald Campbell,
Lecturer, Department of Management
Studies, UWI, was elected to serve as
Treasurer, and Mr. Victor Markman,
Managing Partner, BDO Jamaica, was
re-appointed as Secretary.
Other
Council members for 2005/2006 are:

Bernard, Mr. Linroy Marshall, Mr. L. Garth
Kiddoe, Mr. Dennis Chung, Mr. Patrick
