Expansion Of ICAJ Secretariat Facilities Pproposed

A proposed plan for the expansion and further development of the property, which now houses the ICAJ Secretariat at 8 Ruthven Road was presented to members at the 41st Annual General Meeting held on July 26 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.

In his presentation, Chairman of the Property Development Committee, Mr. Archibald Campbell, stated that the modern state-of-the-art office facilities would be constructed at an estimated cost of $55 million. This will be financed by fundraising to the tune of $25 million and the balance by way of a mortgage loan.

The Committee is seeking the financial assistance of business partners and ICAJ members to meet this target. Members of Council have pledged to contribute at least $1 million towards the project. Donors and contributors will be recognized by way of a plaque bearing their names, which will be permanently affixed to the walls of the newly constructed facilities or by other means.

The Committee wishes to acknowledge and thank the following persons who have already made a contribution towards the building project:

  • ICAJ President Leighton McKnight ($100,000)
  • Council Member Patrick Chin ($100,000).
