ICAJ's Immediate Past President Elected Secretary of ICAC

ICAJ's Immediate Past President, Leighton McKnight, was elected Secretary of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean (ICAC) at its Annual General Meeting held on June 28, 2007 in St. Kitts.

The Institute also elected its first female President, Angela Lee Loy, at the AGM. Ms. Lee Loy is the immediate Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad & Tobago and is currently the Managing Director of Aegis Business Solutions Limited and Aegis Management Solutions Limited. She took over the reign of leadership from L. Garth Kiddoe, Past President of ICAJ, who served as ICAC President for 2005-2007.

Other persons elected to serve for the 2007-2008 administrative year were:

  • Harryram Parmesar, Vice President - Guyana representative
  • Brian Robinson - Treasurer
  • Joan Brathwaite, Director - Barbados
  • Roy Pandy, Director - Belize
  • Frank Myers, Director - Eastern Caribbean
  • Donald Ferguson, Director-Bahamas

The AGM was followed by the 25th Annual Caribbean Conference of Accountants at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and Royal Beach Casino from June 28th to 30th.

The Conference, which was held under the theme, "Delivering Excellence -polishing the diamond", attracted over 371 delegates, guests and speakers from the Caribbean, with 110 participants from Jamaica.
