ICAJ Now Accepts The CGA Designation

ICAJ has now accepted the Certified General Accountants of Canada (CGA) designation as a qualifying route of entry to the profession.

Plans are now being made to finalise a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CGA to provide administrative support to new and current CGA students in Jamaica. The MOU is to be finalised for the new academic year in September.

Plans are also being made for an official launch of the program in October this year. The launch will pave the way for students to enrol in the program and to prepare for examinations as early as March 2007.

The CGA program is delivered on-line with study support facilities including online tutors, discussion boards and feedback from the online markers. The program targets tertiary graduates at the first degree or associate degree level or anyone wishing to pursue a career in accounting and finance.
