ICAJ Hosts Consultation Forum on SMEs in Jamaica

In an effort to help meet the reporting needs of small and medium-sized entities (SMEs) locally, the ICAJ hosted a consultation forum with stakeholders of SMEs on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at the Knutsford Court Hotel.

The objective of the forum was to solicit comments and suggestions from stakeholders, including investors, preparers and users of financial instruments, on the Exposure Draft on the proposed International Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-sized-entities (SMEs) issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).

The issues and concerns raised at the forum will be included in ICAJ's submission to the IASB to influence the development of an International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) that would be tailored to meet the needs of SMEs in Jamaica.
