ICAJ
Celebrates 39-year Milestone
On Sunday, January 11, the ICAJ
marked its 39th Anniversary with Thanksgiving Services in Kingston
at the First Missionary Church and in Montego Bay at the Emmanuel
Chapel.
It was an occasion for members,
students and well-wishers to celebrate another milestone achievement
in the history of the Institute and to pray for God's guidance for
the continued growth and development of the profession.
In reflecting on the 39 years of
achievements, ICAJ President, Mr Linroy Marshall, paid tribute to
the contribution of past and present leaders and members of Council,
who have remained committed to the objectives of the Institute.
"Today, we can say with pride,
that we are one of the best organized and most vibrant professional
bodies in Jamaica, providing services to some 779 members…..Through
our membership, we have made and continue to make an invaluable
contribution to the economic and social development of
Jamaica," he said.
"As a body of professionals, we
see our role as dynamic and we will continue our efforts to ensure
that our members are seen as trustworthy protectors of the public
interest while fulfilling our mandate," Mr Marshall added.
Mr. Marshall urged members to seek,
above all, not to be served but to serve and to live their lives in
the best interest of others, offering service marked by nobility,
integrity and the highest ethical principles.
In keeping with the celebration of
the Institute's 39th anniversary, the ICAJ President presented a
cheque, on behalf of the Institute, to First Missionary Church to
assist with its outreach programme.
The Anniversary Church Service in
Kingston was attended by Past Presidents, Mr. Kenneth Lewis, Mr.
Aulous Madden and Mr. Garth Kiddoe as well as Council Members, Miss
Prunella Vassell, Mr. Dennis Brown and Mr. Patrick Chin as well as
Secretary, Mr. Victor Markman. Executive Director, Mrs. Sidonne
Whitelock, other ICAJ members, Secretariat staff, family members and
friends also shared in the thanksgiving service.

McKnight, who represented the Institute at the Service in Montego
Bay and delivered greetings on behalf of the President, also
presented a cheque donation to the Emmanuel Chapel. The Service in
Montego Bay was attended by ICAJ Members, their families, students
and well-wishers from the Western region.
