The Institute of Chartered Accountants regulates the practice of Accountancy in Jamaica as well as the use of the Accountancy designations - CA ad FCA. When you become a member you become certified to use the designation Chartered Accountant ".
To qualify as a member you must; Pass any of the qualifying examinations recognized by the Institute (ACCA Professional examinations or a Master of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of the West Indies, Mona, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant (AICPA) examinations, Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification, or the Canadian Certified General Accounting (CGA) examinations). The ICAJ Council, in its discretion may by resolution admit to membership of the Institute any person who is a member of a professional accountancy body listed below:
Have obtained practical experience of not less than three years, by working in a professional firm or being engaged in accounting work in other acceptable organisations in senior positions. This experience must be attested to by a supervisor or manager.

ICAJ Membership Application Fee Effective, May 01, 2011, individuals applying for membership within the first year of being deemed eligible, i.e. after review of qualifications and experience, will receive an application fee discount of 15%. Therefore, the application fee payable is $6,800.00. Individuals applying outside of this 1 year period, will be charged an application fee of $8,000.00. The application fee is non-refundable. You may check the application review checklist on page 12 of the application form attached to determine if you fulfill all the requirements for membership before submitting the form. The application fee is non-refundable. 2011/2012 - MEMBERS REGISTRATION DETAILS: 2. If you are NOT currently in practice, your yearly membership fee is $17,500.00 (inclusive of GCT). 3. If you are a member overseas, your yearly membership fee is $8,000.00 (inclusive of GCT). ICAJ MEMBERSHIP PINS
Members are reminded to collect their membership pins if they have not already done so. Gold pins are for members in the category of Fellow, and silver pins for members in the category of Associate. Contact the ICAJ Secretariat to make arrangements to collect your pin. The ICAJ has now introduced shirts for members and students. These shirts are available for purchase from the Secretariat office.
